What’s the most user-friendly email platform with the most earning potential?

TLDR: The most user-friendly email service provider, with the most earning potential, is the one you can stick to. Truly. Everything after that comes to bells and whistles, which we’re gonna cover, but I don’t want to discount the power of discipline over all else.

Email pays you like a career when you treat it like one.

No, I’m not saying you’ve gotta spend 40 hours a week sending them, but you do have to make it a non-negotiable task on your schedule for it to pay off the way you probably want it to.

You know how people say, “If it were so easy, everybody would do it”?

I’d say if that were true, everyone would start a newsletter, build an audience, and monetise their expertise to the ones who literally subscribed to stay in touch with them.

But the problem isn’t that there is a lack of knowledge out there; it’s that there’s a lack of application.

We all have dreams of what a freedom-based life would look like in our heads, and a ton of us at least kind of know how to get there. But why is it that when it comes to sticking to the diet, getting our steps in, and starting the email list, we hesitate?

We know they get results. We know that if we made those tasks daily habits, we’d be healthier, happier, and richer. So what gives?

I’ve heard it said that if you want a lasting business, solve one of these problems for people:

  • Weight
  • Wellness
  • Wealth

I may coach CrossFit part-time, but my career calling is helping founders create additional income and a sense of community through emails that feel true to their brands and missions.

Why I Chose Flodesk as a New Business Owner

My business was born out of necessity.

I had only been living in my first purchased home for two (yes, TWO) days when I was fired without any warning.

The mortgage wasn’t going to pay itself, but my options were slim. My daughter was still breastfed on demand, and I didn’t have access to a car while her dad worked, so leaving the house wasn’t an option.

I flashed back to the time my ex-boss told me that I could have an amazing career as a writer. She said I had a way with words—something I’ve also been told by mom and mentors in the past.

There are lots of ways to write. But how was I going to turn writing into my full-time job?

I’ve always been a non-fiction gal, but there was no way I had the attention span or experience to write a book. The short-form of email writing is about as ADHD-friendly as non-fiction gets, so I snagged my domain, called myself a copywriter, and opened up shop.

Growing pains were tough, and it didn’t take long for me to feel overwhelmed by how many decisions I’d have to make as a business owner.

One of them was where to build my email list.

Flodesk was one of my first investments as a brand-new business owner. I had a Stan Store at the time, but I wanted a more robust software that would grow with The Copywriting Mama and not limit its email marketing potential.

It seemed like everyone in my industry was singing Flodesk’s praises, and I hadn’t had an amazing experience with any of the email service providers I had tried in the past, so I was game for trying something new.

I signed up for my free 14-day trial and was amazed right away by how user-friendly it was. Not only that, there was no sacrificing beauty for experience.

Even though I am NOT tech savvy, nor graphically inclined, I was able to create an on-brand newsletter template that I was proud to send within a few minutes.

After getting several encouraging replies back from my first send, I was sold. It felt so rewarding to know that I wasn’t just posting into the abyss. People were seeing me and responding to me!

And did you know emails are 40x more likely to reach your subscribers than your posts are to reach your followers?

Here we are, 2+ years and a partnership later, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Since then, I’ve amassed a small but mighty community that opens my emails at alarmingly high rates (60%+ on average!), proving that you don’t need the greatest quantity of subscribers to have the greatest quality email list.

“Will Flodesk integrate with my current tech stack?”

Here’s who Flodesk integrates with:

  • Honeybook
  • Canva
  • Manychat
  • Thrivecart
  • Instagram
  • Shopify
  • Squarespace
  • Wix
  • Interact
  • Marvelous
  • Pabbly Connect
  • BookFunnel
  • BDOW!
  • involve.me
  • Grow by MediaVine
  • Zapier
  • TypeForm
  • Kajabi
  • GoogleSheets
  • WooCommerce
  • Elementor
  • Session

And if they don’t integrate with something you use, their team is super easy to drop a line to – to ask questions, provide feedback, or just yap with on Threads.

(Hi, Maddie Levy! 👋🏻)

How These Integrations Save Me Time and Make Me Money

I use a handful of Flodesk’s integrations, but it took me about .2 seconds to think of my favorite to tell you about: Flodesk + Thrivecart.

Every purchase tells me something about my customer. Their frustrations, their bottlenecks, the way they like to receive help. The data is invaluable, and yet most people are letting it fall through the cracks. But not those of us who have the Flodesk x Thrivecart smack pack.

You see, when someone purchases one of my digital products or Strategy Sessions through Thrivecart, they’re automatically tagged in Flodesk and dropped into specific segments.

No copy and pasting. No zaps to set up. Just a seamless automation that helps me more easily provide my customers with a highly personalized experience.

So instead of sending everyone the same generic sequence, I nurture them based on what they need and want.
Template buyers can receive follow-ups about upcoming workshops or office hours. Workshop attendees can receive follow-ups about scheduling a Strategy Session to apply what they have learned. Because I know what they’ve invested in, I can make intentional recommendations for what they might need next.

Before you balk at the idea, let’s not forget that it’s okay to sell to people who have expressed interest in your offers. They can unsubscribe at any time.

But how many times have you thought, “I need to book that cleaning appointment!” and kept forgetting until the dental office finally called you to schedule.

Reminders can be kind, thoughtful, and received like a grandma’s hug.

Flodesk lets you send beautiful post-purchase emails and branded newsletters with a single click. And for those ready to sell directly from their emails, they’ve got checkout features too.

Your life gets easier; meanwhile, your customers can’t believe how you never miss a beat. I can’t wait to keep building out my automations this year so I can spend less time behind a screen and more time fully present with my daughter.

And yes, it is that deep when you’re one human running a family-supporting business.

How Flodesk’s Recent Pricing and Structure Change Affected My Business

Flodesk is really good at simplicity. They make hard stuff easier, especially as it pertains to email marketing for small businesses. They’re constantly hosting public trainings, providing free email education, and providing their partners with all the tools and notice we need to navigate upcoming changes.

Speaking of changes…

We’ve all seen brands fumble pricing updates by waiting until the last minute, and leaving people with no choice but to adapt or exit stage left. But not Flodesk. As a partner, I knew about the recent pricing shift MONTHS in advance. And not from a text or an email, the CEO herself jumped on calls to communicate with each of us individually.

(We love you, Martha!)

They gave us plenty of time to prepare, and then followed it with a huge window of opportunity for our audiences.
If somebody missed the cutoff, it was a choice.Plain and simple. Flodesk generously let OG customers lock in their pre-shift pricing, but even so, I was pleasantly surprised to say that even if they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have strayed from their platform.

Meet Flodesk’s new pricing structure…

The best part about it is that it grows with your business instead of punishing your success with price gauging, unlike a lot of the other options. I’d also like to point out that for those not yet ready to send emails, who just want a form to collect people’s contact info, it costs you NOTHING.

FREE.99 to simply start your list.

From there, the price increases only slightly to unlock additional features.

Sounds more than fair to me. What do you think about it?

Brands show you who they are through their actions.

Flodesk’s actions reaffirm time and time again that they are the real deal.

They communicate with care, to the public and in private. They consider the effects deeply before making changes. And they’ve created a platform that helps small businesses generate additional income with easy-to-use email marketing.

I could kiss them on the mouth, but surely that would be an HR violation, and they don’t play about compliance.

When you link arms with Flodesk, you’re given every tool you need to send beautiful, FTC/FCC-compliant emails that please your people and inbox filters.

Add that to the fact that: Instead of needing 3 different platforms for email, automations, and sales funnels, you can do it all in one place.

And you’re probably technically saving money when you bundle it all and go with Flodesk.

Don’t take my word for it, though; do the math to see for yourself.
